WHAT IS VETERANS HOME CARE?
Essential Care is contracted by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to deliver Veterans’ Home Care Program services.
The Veterans’ Home Care Program is designed to assist DVA clients to continue living independently at home by providing practical help. Services available include domestic assistance, personal care, respite care, lawn mowing, and safety related home and garden maintenance.
Veteran Card holders are required to contact the VHC Assessment Agency on 1300 550 450 for an assessment before services can be provided.
Eligible persons contribute to the cost of VHC services by paying a small co-payment, with the exception of respite care.
